Resilience and Wellbeing programme delivery for Shoreham Academy

Since 2021 I have been supporting the leaders, teaching and support staff at Shoreham Academy with their wellbeing and performance.

Shoreham Academy is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form located in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex. Using a combination of one to one coaching, targeted training for leaders and support staff and confidence interventions for students, I was able to support individuals to navigate challenges, develop personal resilience and to thrive both personally and professionally.

By aligning with the school’s values of integrity, hard work and excellence, this programme has worked alongside the school’s culture of high performance and provided excellence in wellbeing. 

A core element of the programme was personalised one-to-one coaching, offering staff the opportunity to develop self-awareness, confidence, and strategies to manage stress and the challenges of neurodiversity effectively. These sessions provide a safe and supportive space to explore challenges, build emotional resilience, work through past experiences and enhance overall wellbeing.

By addressing individual needs, coaching supports personal growth, empowering participants to take ownership of their success and maintain a balanced approach to performance.

Tailored One-to-One Coaching for Personal Growth

Specialist Training in Resilience and Wellbeing

The programme included structured training sessions designed to equip participants with practical tools for resilience, emotional intelligence, and mental wellbeing. Covering key areas such as stress management, mindset shifts, self-regulation, and maintaining motivation, these workshops created a foundation for long-term personal and professional success.

By integrating evidence-based strategies, this training prepared staff to model and support resilience within the school community, sharing their learning with their students to build a resilient mindset throughout the school.

Building a Culture of Performance and Wellbeing

Beyond individual coaching and training, this programme focused on embedding a culture where wellbeing and high performance coexist. Through leadership development, staff training, and peer-support initiatives, the school community gained the skills to create a positive, supportive, and high-achieving environment.

By encouraging self-care, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving, this approach ensured that resilience became an integral part of the school’s ethos, benefiting both current and future students.

Inspirational Keynote to Celebrate Success

Each year, the school hosts an annual celebration event. I was invited to deliver a keynote speech to inspire students and their families. In my speech, I reinforced the school values of integrity, hard work and excellence by sharing personal insights, real-world examples, and a compelling message of growth and possibility, leaving a lasting impact on the school community.
